I'd love to have something like this in our house. I heard about a dad who hooked up the family TV to a generator that was powered by a stationery bicycle...his kids, a boy and a girl, would be very selective about what programs they would watch, because they had to exercise for it. Sometimes the boy would ride the bike when his sister wanted to watch a show, and the other way around, so it encouraged exercise, being choosy about what you will watch on Tv instead of just being a couch potato, and it also encouraged teamwork. Seemed cruel at first sight, but I think the dad had the right idea. I have a stationery bike in front of the TV, but not hooked up to a generator! My kids will ride it when they watch TV without being forced to do it.
